Creating a Tech Spec
Step-by-step guide: describe your idea, choose your industry, and generate a spec.
Step 1: Describe your idea
Navigate to the CTO Assistant from your dashboard. You'll be asked to describe your app idea in plain language. Be as specific as you can — mention your target users, core functionality, and any particular requirements you already know about. The more context you provide, the more tailored your spec will be.
Step 2: Choose your industry
Select the industry that best matches your product from the 11 available options. This determines which compliance requirements, integration recommendations, and technology patterns the CTO Assistant pulls from. If your product spans multiple industries, choose the primary one — you can always generate additional specs for different angles.
Step 3: Review your spec
The CTO Assistant generates your spec in real time, streaming the results across all 6 dimensions. You can review each dimension, see specific feature recommendations with justifications, and understand why certain technologies or compliance measures are suggested. The spec is saved to your account and can be accessed anytime from the Specs section of your dashboard.
